Let's be real, this is either real love or another Love & Hip Hop storyline!
Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels are reportedly dating. The twosome was spotted holding hands while wearing matching fur coats at the Jazz-Nets game Wednesday (November 28) night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. TMZ shared a video of the Love & Hip Hop reality stars entering the arena looking quite cozy as they waved to fans.
A source later dished about the two's blossoming relationship, telling the site there were "immediate fireworks" between Erica and Safaree when they met. And while they're not officially boyfriend/girlfriend yet, they're very much so on the way to making things official.
Earlier this month, Safaree, who famously dated Nicki Minaj for years, hinted that he'd found a new love. "She’s beautiful inside and out, funny, has her own, sexy and can cook 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ God I deserve this!! Hallelujah," he wrote on Twitter. Erica also gushed on the social media site about finding a man who finally checked all of her boxes. "Wow! A man who was loved by his mother correctly growing up is a Man that is like no other. WTF this is what I been missing 😍🙌🏽🙏🏽," she wrote on Wednesday. "I’m completely speechless 😍❤️ He is proof my son’s future wife is going to be such a lucky woman."
The timing of Erica and Safaree's relationship is somewhat suspicious, given that the new season of Love and Hip: New York (which they both star on) premiered Monday (November 26). Plus, the insider told TMZ their relationship will be featured on the show. There's also the fact that Erica only got out of a relationship (that did not end well) less than two months ago.
Back in October, Erica was arrested alongside her then-boyfriend Clifford Dixon. The Love & Hip Hop star was charged with possession of marijuana in Johns Creek, Georgia after cops were called to her home following an alleged domestic violence dispute between her and Clifford.
According to TMZ, Cliff was first taken into custody after he allegedly kicked through a bedroom door to reach Erica, who had locked herself in the room after an argument between the two allegedly turned physical. Per the police report, which was obtained by the site, Erica and Cliff's roommates heard them fighting upstairs, and then reportedly heard someone get slapped. While Cliff denied breaking through the door, two alleged witnesses told cops a different story, which led to his arrest. Since the home where the fight took place was in Erica's name, Cliff was arrested for criminal trespass.
Erica was also placed under arrest after she reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana and cops found THC wax (weed wax) in her bedroom and kitchen.
