Cops Rush To R. Kelly's Home After Receiving Tip About Alleged Suicide Pact

Chicago police rushed to R. Kelly's Trump Tower condo on Tuesday (March 12) after someone called 911 saying the disgraced singer's girlfriends were attempting to carry out a "suicide pact," People reports. However, after officers arrived on the scene they quickly found out that the call was nothing more than a false alarm.

Here's how it all went down:

An anonymous caller called authorities saying, "four other women, who are victims of R. Kelly are planning to carry out a suicide pact at one of the condos at Trump Tower."

"Police received a call from an out of state anonymous caller stating that people at the location were going to carry out a suicide pact. Police on scene conducting a wellness check and it is not a bonafide incident," the Chicago Police Department said in a statement. Kelly’s lawyer, Steve Greenberg, later told People, "It is offensive that anyone gives this any credibility."

This is not the first time someone has alleged that Kelly's girlfriends have a suicide pact. Back in January, before the release of Surviving R. Kelly, Kelly’s early alleged victim Lizzette Martinez told People the 52-year-old singer had a suicide pact with the women living "in his house."

“I mean my anxiety is constantly through the roof because I hear the parents, I hear there’s a plan in place," she said referring to Kelly's two young girlfriends, Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary. "He’s put it in place that if something goes down they’re all going to take pills and kill… I just can’t."

"I just don’t understand it and I’m so worried about them. It just breaks my heart. I’m so angry with him," she added.

Last week, the young women spoke out in their first joint interview since the airing of Surviving R. Kelly. Azriel, who is 21-years-old, couldn't hold back tears as she addressed the claims that her 52-year-old boyfriend abuses her. "I am crying because you guys don’t know the truth and you guys believe in some f**king facade that our parents are saying for money and if you can't see that then you're ignorant and you're stupid!" she yelled at Gayle King (who conducted the interview) while Joycelyn, who is 23-years-old and is also Kelly's girlfriend, rubbed her back.

As previously reported, Joycelyn and Azriel's families appeared in Surviving R. Kelly, which sent shockwaves throughout audiences with its gripping and harrowing recounts of Kelly's alleged sexual abuse — told by seven alleged survivors — over the last 20-plus years. In the documentary, Joycelyn and Azriel's parents alleged their daughters are victims of the disgraced singer's brainwashing. Azriel's parents additionally claimed that Kelly began having a relationship with their daughter when she was only 17-years-old.
