Queen Elizabeth Is Reportedly 'Delighted' By Meghan Markle's Royal Tour

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry found themselves at the center of a few royal scandals over the summer. Between the backlash for flying private and keeping Archie's baptism, as well as the names of his godparents, private, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly found themselves on Queen Elizabeth's bad side, too. The Queen was so upset with Meghan and Harry, her advisers reportedly warned visitors at the palace not to bring the Sussexes up in conversation with long reigning monarch. Yikes!

Meghan and Harry are using their royal tour of South Africa to fix their "tarnished images" and the Queen is reportedly "delighted" with their efforts. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Express, "The way Meghan and Harry have handled their tour in South Africa so far has been uniquely informal, from hugging and dancing to Meghan not wearing her engagement ring. This is unusual for a royal tour but the Sussexes have already shown they do things their way."

Baby Archie even made his first public appearance during the tour, as well, which was well received by even Harry and Meghan's harshest critics. I mean, who wouldn't be happy to see that adorable little baby? Their efforts are clearly working and, as Firtzwilliams pointed out to Express, the Queen will no doubt be pleased with her grandson and his family. "Their main appeal is clearly to the young and it is brilliantly unorthodox...I am sure that the Queen, who cares so deeply about her beloved Commonwealth, will be delighted at their successes," he said.

Prince Harry is thought to be quite close and fond of his grandmother, so, it wouldn't be surprising if her approval meant a lot to him. Hopefully the rest of the royal tour goes smoothly. Fingers crossed Archie makes another appearance, too!
