Woman Allegedly Posed As Prosecutor, Dropped Charges Against Herself

A New Hampshire woman was indicted by a grand jury after allegedly posing as a prosecutor and falsifying records related to previous charges filed against her. Prosecutors said that Lisa Landon, 33, accessed the state's electronic filing system and dropped the charges against her in three separate drug and stalking cases. She is also accused of falsifying a judge's decision to waive a filing fee in a lawsuit she filed against the county and faking an order in a child custody case with another member of her family.

Landon was busted by a forensic examiner who was supposed to perform a competency evaluation on her. When the examiner noticed the charges had been dropped, they reached out to the Hillsborough County Prosecutor's Office to see if it was necessary to go through with the evaluation.

"The file purported to contain a nolle prosequi (drop the charges) filed by Assistant County Attorney Patrice Casian, but it quickly became evident to the State that the document, as well as other documents in the file, had been filed fraudulently," Superior Court Judge David Anderson wrote.

A grand jury indicted Landon on one charge of false personation, six counts of falsifying physical evidence, burglary, and theft.
