Mary J. Blige Set to Receive Lifetime Achievement Honor at 2019 BET Awards

Mary J. Blige's three decades of revolutionary success is finally being recognized at this year's 2019 BET Awards.

The iconic songstress will be receiving BET's Lifetime Achievement honor. With platinum hits like 1996's "Not Non' Cry" and chart-topping features co-signed by Ludacris and Musiq Soulchild, you can say this is long overdue. Her dynamic music career consists of a variety of collaborations from Lil Kim and Drake to Sam Smith and George Michael. This upcoming accolade will be one of many alined with 9 Grammy awards, 10 Billboard awards and a plethora of other titles.

Not to mention the history she made being the first as a double nominee at the Academy Awards for "Best Supporting Actress" and "Best Original Song" in Mudbound.

Aside from racking up plaques, Ms. Blige is keeping her hands full with a continuation of projects. Her latest is a summer tour she'll be co-headlining with Nas, starting July 11th.
