Sloane Stephens Shares Tennis Skills With Aspiring Female Athletes

Sloane Stephens visited the UTSA Billie Jean King Tennis Center yesterday (Aug. 21) to speak with some up and coming tennis stars. The 2017 US Open Champion and Mercedes-Benz Ambassador talked to the teens of the USTA National Junior Tennis and Learning network.

The entire afternoon was fun-filled with wisdom and motivation from a fellow female peer they can look up to. The idea behind the eye-opening day was to challenge societal norms and boost the girls' confidence in stepping outside their comfort zones; vital information for big dreamers looking to explore careers in a male-dominated industry.

Sloane was accompanied by USTA tennis professional and FedCup Captain, Kathy Rinaldi, who helped her exercise their minds and bodies by leading warm ups and drills on the court. Of course, a prime moment was a photo-op some of the girls took advantage of with Stephens.

Thanks to Mercedes-Benz MBUX technology, you don't have to be a tennis player to get pointers from Sloane...or at least a VR version of her. Mercedes-Benz Brand Showroom will house a section where US Open attendees can have a one-on-one lesson with her in their new Augmented Reality experience.
