Vegan Sues Neighbors Over Smell of BBQ Food

An Australian vegan is getting more than what she bargained for after calling the cops on a BBQ.

Cilla Carden thought she could sue her West Australian neighbors because she's bothered by the smell of them cooking food. The Vegan massage therapist told Nine News Perth that she's been convicted Toan Vu and his family purposefully cook meat outside on their lawn to irritate her.

β€œThey’ve put [the barbecue] there so I smell fish, all I can smell is fish. I can’t enjoy my back yard, I can’t go out there.”

This doesn't mark the beginning of yard wars between the two. Aside filing a suit in the Supreme Court of the state of Western Australia over their food choice, Carden has also filed complaints of "breaching residential laws" over cigarette smells wafting to her lawn. Let's not forget frustration from the children's noise playing basketball in the yard. The Guardian reported Carden vs. Vu has been going on since 2017.

Unfortunately for Cilla, the case was thrown out after a judge sided with her opposition. To make matters worse, citizens have decided to plan a peaceful protest by throwing a BBQ in front of her house. A Facebook group named "Community BBQ for Cilla Carden" stated:

"Cilla Carden has a problem with her neighbors cooking meat on their BBQ, because she’s a vegan. Recently taking them to the Supreme Court! Don’t let Cilla destroy a good old Aussie tradition, join us for a community BBQ in protest of her actions, and help Cilla Carden GET SOME PORK ON HER FORK.”

Check out what the crew thinks about the vegan's venture to justice.
