Issa Rae Is Ready to Set Up A Reboot for 'Set It Off'

It's no secret that Issa Rae knows how to capture an audience with comedy, like in A Black Lady Sketch Show, and even drama, like her role in The Hate U Give. But now, we're going to see her in a new thrilling light for a long-awaited reboot.

We all know the cult classic Set It Off, where we shed tears when "T.T." (Kimberly Elise) died in Stony's (Jada Pinkett-Smith) arms and Cleo (Queen Latifah) went out in the bullets of glory. There were so many iconic moments fans hold close to their hearts. Fast forward 23 years later and we'll get to relive all of those nostalgic times thanks to Issa.

The Insecure creator revealed that she's in the early development stages on a "re-imagined" version of the film, according to Variety. She'll be producing and starring while Montrel McKay (Issa Rae Productions) will lead the project and Syreeta Singleton and Nina Gloster take on the script.

Hopefully everyone will make it out of the bank robbery successful with Frankie (Vivica A. Fox) desperately trying to make a run for it. 😭
