Fans of the beloved sitcom A Different World have a new reason to celebrate.
Netflix is releasing a 10-episode sequel series this fall that continues the story of Hillman College rather than rebooting the original show.
The new series centers on Deborah Wayne, the freshman daughter of Hillman alumni Whitley Gilbert and Dwayne Wayne, as she begins her own college journey while trying to establish an identity outside of her famous parents' legacy.
Original cast members Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison are returning to reprise their iconic roles, along with Karen Malina White and Ajai Sanders.
The continuation aims to introduce a new generation to Hillman while honoring the legacy of one of television's most influential Black sitcoms.
