A new generation is preparing to take the throne of Wakanda.
British actor David Jonsson has been cast as the adult version of Prince T’Challa II, also known as Toussaint, in Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Black Panther 3.”
The character is the son of the late King T’Challa and Nakia. He was first introduced as a child near the end of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” The new movie is expected to explore his future and the legacy left behind by his father.
Jonsson’s casting was officially announced during the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con. Ryan Coogler is returning to direct, while Letitia Wright and Winston Duke are also expected to return as Shuri and M’Baku. The movie is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 15, 2028.
There have also been reports that Denzel Washington could appear in the movie. However, Marvel has not revealed details about his potential character or how he would fit into the story.
Jonsson is known for his performances in projects including “Industry” and “Rye Lane.” His casting signals a major new chapter for the “Black Panther” franchise as Marvel continues the story of Wakanda while honoring the legacy of Chadwick Boseman.
