Three men, including a U.S. Secret Service agent, are facing serious criminal charges following an alleged hazing incident in South Florida.
Prosecutors allege the men participated in repeated beatings using canes and paddles, leaving two victims hospitalized with severe injuries.
The defendants—Marquez Christopher Pinder, Jared Lamar James, and Elijah Delano Dyous—have each been charged with attempted manslaughter with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon causing great bodily harm, and hazing with a deadly weapon.
In response to the case, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated issued a statement reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy toward hazing.
The fraternity also stated that the individuals charged are not current members and that the alleged incident involved an alumni, non-university chapter rather than a chapter affiliated with a college or university.
The criminal case remains ongoing.
