Today is National Matchmaker Day, a celebration of the people who help bring couples together and sometimes create love stories that last a lifetime.
The day recognizes professional matchmakers as well as friends and family members who love playing Cupid. It’s all about celebrating the people who seem to have a gift for spotting a connection before two people even realize it themselves.
Of course, here at the Steve Harvey Morning Show, we have our own resident matchmaker: Nephew Tommy, host of OWN’s hit dating series Ready to Love.
Since the show premiered, Tommy has helped guide successful Black singles through dating, relationships, heartbreak, and the search for lasting love. The series has produced couples who continued their relationships after the cameras stopped rolling, and Tommy has even officiated a wedding for a couple who met through the show.
After years of helping singles navigate love on television, Tommy has definitely earned his matchmaker title.
So today, we’re giving a special shout-out to Nephew Tommy and everyone else who has ever helped bring two people together.
