How much money is too much money? Because the numbers on this year’s Forbes 400 list are almost hard to comprehend.
Forbes has released its annual ranking of America’s 400 wealthiest people, and Elon Musk is sitting comfortably at the top.
Musk’s estimated fortune is now an incredible $908 billion, making him the richest American on the list for the fifth consecutive year.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos comes in at No. 2 with an estimated $378 billion.
Google co-founder Larry Page is third at $278 billion, followed by Michael Dell at $263 billion and Google co-founder Sergey Brin at $256 billion.
Mark Zuckerberg lands at No. 6 with an estimated $212 billion fortune.
And apparently $144 billion only gets you tenth place these days. That is where legendary investor Warren Buffett sits on the list.
Combined, the 400 richest Americans are worth an estimated $8 trillion.
And getting onto the Forbes 400 is harder than ever. This year, a person needed at least $4.4 billion just to make the cut.
That means plenty of famous celebrity billionaires, including Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift and LeBron James, may have billionaire status but still do not have enough money to crack this particular top 400.
Which brings us to Uncle Steve.
