Winning the lottery is supposed to change your life for the better, but one Kentucky Powerball winner keeps making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
James Farthing won a massive $167.3 million Powerball jackpot in April 2025.
Since then, he has reportedly been arrested five times.
His latest arrest happened September 20 after deputies found him asleep inside a running vehicle in the parking lot of a Walmart in Georgetown, Kentucky.
Authorities said Farthing showed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. He was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place.
Farthing has faced several other legal problems since becoming a multimillionaire, including allegations involving battery against a law enforcement officer, marijuana possession, burglary and domestic violence-related charges.
Some of those cases remain unresolved, and the allegations should not be considered proof of guilt.
Still, five arrests after winning more than $167 million is definitely going to get people talking.
Most of us imagine that if we ever hit the Powerball, we would be somewhere on a beach, traveling the world or making sure our families were taken care of.
