Diddy Release Date Moves Up Amid Prison Privilege Claims

Sean “Diddy” Combs could be getting out of federal prison sooner than previously expected.

Federal Bureau of Prisons records now list the 56-year-old music mogul’s projected release date as January 21, 2028. His release date has shifted several times since he began serving his 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.

Combs was convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. A jury acquitted him of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.

But his latest prison headlines have nothing to do with his release date.

Several inmates have alleged that Diddy has been living an unusually comfortable lifestyle behind bars. The claims include using a contraband cellphone, drinking Hennessy and other alcohol, receiving massages and paying other inmates to cook special meals, clean his cell and do his laundry.

Footage obtained from inside the prison also reportedly shows Combs using a cellphone, which is prohibited for federal inmates.

His representatives have pushed back against the reports and maintain that Combs is following prison rules.

Separate reports say Diddy has been returned to solitary confinement while officials look into the allegations, although the Bureau of Prisons has not publicly confirmed details about his current housing status.

His projected release date could change if disciplinary action is ultimately taken.
