Savannah James Sparks Debate Over First-Class Travel

Savannah James and her longtime friend April McDaniel are opening up about how they navigate having very different financial lifestyles.

During a recent episode of Boardroom’s Mental Wealth, the friends and business partners discussed a trip where Savannah flew first class while April sat in business class.

That arrangement has apparently bothered some people online.

Critics argue that because Savannah has access to significant wealth through her own success and her marriage to NBA superstar LeBron James, she should pay for her friend to sit in first class with her.

But April says she does not see it that way at all.

She explained that she and Savannah understand they live different lifestyles and that first class simply is not something she feels the need to include in her personal budget.

“There’s two different lifestyles that exist. Like we’re not delusional about that,” April explained.

Savannah also said her friends have never made her feel responsible for paying their expenses simply because she has more money.

The women say they work around their different budgets when traveling by planning ahead. And during the flight in question, April even visited Savannah in first class, where they watched a movie and shared snacks together.

The conversation has opened up a larger debate about friendships where one person makes considerably more money than the other.

Does being wealthy mean you should automatically upgrade your friends when you travel together, or is business class already a pretty nice seat?
