Getting around to the gym isn’t always a simple feat. Without the proper self-motivation, it’s easy to come up with a multitude of reasons for why we could be anywhere else but breaking a sweat. Not to worry - reaching your fitness goals will be a breeze with these three ways to get your butt to the gym.
Create A Gym Schedule
Making your own schedule will not only hold you accountable, but will give you the motivation you need on days when you aren’t feeling it. Try reserving a workout class every three days or making set appointments with a personal trainer. Even better, find a workout buddy and bring them along with you. This way, you’ll be less likely to cancel and more consistent with your workouts.
Go outside of your comfort zone and sign up for a challenging event like a marathon, obstacle course or mud race. Doing this will help to keep your workouts from getting repetitive and will have you working towards an exciting, purposeful goal.
Any workout is better than no workout. If you find yourself with little to no time to complete your usual workout, try using the time you do have wisely and complete a workout that has a mighty impact, like high intensity training. In just seven to twenty minutes of a HIIT workout, a person can burn up to a whopping 15 calories per minute.
Working out doesn't have to be impossible. Once you implement the right tools to get motivated, getting to the gym will be a no-brainer.
