Kelly Clarkson Reveals Secret Behind Her 37 Pound Weight Loss

Kelly Clarkson has never looked better. The Voice coach and “Love So Soft” singer has dropped 37 pounds and surprisingly it has nothing to do with working out. 

“I literally read this book, and I did it for this autoimmune disease that I had and I had a thyroid issue, and now all my levels are back up,” she shared with Extra backstage at the 2018 CMT Music Awards while chatting about her slimmed-down frame. “I’m not on medicine anymore because of this book, it’s called The Plant Paradox. It’s basically about how we cook our food, non-GMO, no pesticides, eating really organic … Literally, I haven’t worked out at all!”

The Plant Paradox is by Steven R. Gundry, M.D. and covers “the hidden dangers in ‘healthy’ foods that cause disease and weight gain.” There’s also a cookbook that pairs with the book. 

Clarkson added that she still eats food like fried chicken and cake, but she makes sure to cook with healthy ingredients, like almond flour. 

“I’m not working out!” Kelly added. “I think people think I’m working out and I’m like, ‘Don’t think I’m going to come play some sport!’”

Kelly has always had a good attitude when it comes to her appearance, despite suffering weight fluctuations due to a thyroid disorder. 

“I have to shout out my whole glam squad,” Clarkson previously joked of her sleek physique after The Voice finale last month. “I literally hired Harry Potter and SPANX; it’s all like a sausage.”
