Nicki Minaj is receiving backlash after claiming she's the "new" Harriet Tubman.
In case you've missed it, the Queens rapper called out Spotify for not fulfilling their promise on promoting her latest album, Queen. The Barbz feels the notable streaming service reneged on their promise in order to "teach her a lesson" for releasing her album 10 minutes early.
Completely in her feelings, Minaj tweeted:
“All the QUEENS I remember, SHOOK SH*T UP!!!!!!!! Queen of the week may go to HARRIET TUBMAN!!!!!! Had she just sat there & ate her rice, you n***gaz history would’ve been a lot less triumphant.”
As you can imagine, Twitterverse went into an uproar.
Comparing your album sales to Harriet Tubman’s fight for freedom is the most stupid commentary on slavery in 2018 and that includes Kanye saying slavery was a choice. https://t.co/r4EA8IGR2b— 2002 Chris Jericho (@ASAPVick_) August 20, 2018
Despite having so many eyebrows raised at her recent comment, when Nicki was asked if she felt she took comments too far, she responded, "No, no. I am Harriet Tubman, leave me alone."
And there you have it!
In more "Queen" tingz, it has been announced that Nicki is "scrapping her “NickiHndrxx Tour” with Future.
The statement was released by LiveNation that the reason she pulled out was to “reevaluate elements of production" or aka low ticket sales.
Perhaps with this down time, she'll reflect on her comments of comparing herself to a legendary freedom fighter!
