According to Fox 8, the mayor’s honor was given to the legendary power couple for their "humanitarian and cultural contributions."

Mayor Benjamin presented Jay-Z the key to the city while backstage at Columbia's Williams-Brice Stadium and posted a photo of himself handing the key over to Jay-Z who smiled from ear to ear.

As you know, our very own J. Anthony Brown is from South Carolina and to say the least, he was very disappointed. J claims that he was "hurt" because he helped him raise money and win a campaign. Meanwhile, in good 'ol Unc fashion, Steve Harvey couldn't help but to poke fun at him.

Take a listen:

Aww poor J!
