Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have joined Instagram! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched their official, joint account on Tuesday (April 2) under the handle @SussexRoyal.
“Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to [Sussex Royal]”- Harry & Meghan
Not only did Meghan and Harry share a sweet greeting with their followers, they also posted a series of snapshots from their first year of marriage.
The launch of their own Instagram account comes just a few weeks after they officially separated their office from Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will continue to share updates of their own on Kensington Palace's Instagram account aka @KensingtonRoyal.
Before marrying Prince Harry last May, Meghan shuttered her personal social media accounts, as well as her lifestyle blog The Tig. “Ms. Markle is grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years,” a source told People at the time. “However as she has not used them for some time she has taken the decision to close them.”
With Meghan's due date only a few weeks away now, it's likely @SussexRoyal is where they will debut the first official photos of their bundle of joy. We'll have to keep our eyes glued to their account to find out all the important information, such as Baby Sussex's name, fancy royal titles, and even if the baby will have dual U.S.-U.K. citizenship. In the meantime, we should all get caught up on the royal family's lineage, so, we know just where Baby Sussex falls in line for the throne.
