Can you imagine what an interesting world it would be to watch Samuel L. Jackson play Chris Rock's dad in a movie? Well, you won't have to wonder anymore.

Chris has officially taken reign of the infamous Saw franchise with plans to reboot it. That means bringing some familiar faces to the silver screen. Jackson, being a big one, will reportedly play his father, according to the New York Post.

Other stars will include, The Handmaid's Tale's Max Minghella and Riverdale's Marisol Nichols. Besides playing lead detective solving the serial killings, the comedian will be executive producing behind the camera. This ninth installment to the box office hit will be directed by Darren Lynn, whose led three previous sequels to the horror flick. Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chairman Joe Drake explained in a statement:

“This is next level of Saw on full tilt. We think Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock along with Max Minghella and Marisol Nichols make this film completely special in the Saw canon and we can’t wait to unleash this unexpected and sinister new story on fans of this franchise.”

Saw follows a twisted maze played between a serial killer and his victims. He kidnaps "those deserving of karma" and forces them into a literally puzzle game of life or death. Meanwhile, the detective seeks to capture the mysterious game creator before time runs out.
