Alex Trebek Finishes Chemotherapy And Is Back To Work Hosting Jeopardy!

Alex Trebek is cancer-free and has returned to work, filming new episodes for the 36th season of Jeopardy! Trebek announced in March that he'd been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and would have to undergo chemotherapy treatment.

"I've gone through a lot of chemotherapy, and thankfully, that is now over," he said in a promotional video for the upcoming season. "I'm on the mend, and that's all I can hope for right now."

The video appears to have been filmed on July 22, which was Trebek's 79th birthday. In the video, the beloved host was presented with a cake while the crowd sang Happy Birthday.

Trebek says he is excited to be back at work and is looking forward to the upcoming season.

"We have some exciting things coming up [this season], and I can't wait to share them with all of you," he said. "Let me tell you, it's going to be a good year."

New episodes of Jeopardy! begin airing on September 9.
