If your Google Assistant sounds very familiar, that's because you might have heard that voice on your TV a couple of times.
Issa Rae has been named the newest voice behind Google Assistant. The barrier-breaking creator has played an inspirational role for women and African-Americans in the entertainment industry. Us Weekly got a chance to ask Rae what she thought about the opportunity, which she was nothing short of thrilled about.
“I’m very excited. It’s one of the coolest things to happen to me in recent times.”
“Being in the recording studio and being able to be myself and be such a helpful presence, and a voice, and being a black woman who gets to help you day-to-day navigate your life and make your life easier is just the dopest thing to me and I’m honored to be thought of and to be a voice,”
An amazing feature of the gadget is the ability Issa has to share motivational advice when you need that extra boost. She went on to admit to being surprised that she shared such an influence in help her people's self confidence.
“I didn’t know that I’d said that much. I didn’t know I’d given so many quips that I think are helpful.”
As we wait for Issa's newest venture into tech, make sure to stay tuned into HBO as the 34-year-old self made success is preparing for Insecure season 4 premiere in 2020.
