Antonio Brown Surrenders To Police In Florida

Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown surrendered to authorities in Hollywood, Florida, after they issued a warrant for his arrest stemming from an incident with a moving truck driver at his home earlier in the week.

Brown is facing charges of felony burglary with battery, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and criminal mischief for allegedly assaulting the driver and throwing a rock at the truck.

A judge set Brown's bond at $110,000 and he will be required to wear a GPS ankle monitor when he is released. He will also have to surrender his passport and guns, undergo a drug and alcohol screening, and get a mental health evaluation.

According to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe, Brown could face life in prison if he is convicted on the burglary with battery charge.

Brown's lawyer said that he is innocent and accused police officials of "overcharging" his client.

"He's innocent of these charges," Brown's attorney, Eric Schwartzreich, said, according to WFOR-TV.

Brown has been at the center of multiple controversies over the past few months. His troubles started in training camp when he was a member of the Oakland Raiders. First, he suffered frostbite on his feet following a botched cryotherapy procedure. Then, he was told that his helmet was too old to be certified and had to find a newer model. Brown refused and threatened to retire before filing a grievance with the NFL over the issue.

The embattled wide receiver then found himself in a public dispute with the Raiders' general manager and was eventually released by the team. He was quickly signed by the New England Patriots and played a single game before he found himself in trouble again. Brown's former trainer accused him of sexual assault in a lawsuit, and he was cut by the Patriots as multiple allegations surfaced against him.

The NFL launched an investigation and Brown was placed on the commissioner's exempt list while the league looks into the allegations.
