LeBron James And Michelle Obama Join Forces To Encourage Voting

The LeBron James led More Than A Vote movement has joined forces with Michelle Obama's When We All Vote to build a groundbreaking partnership that will encourage Americans to vote on November 3. Together, the organizations hope to "build momentum and excitement around voting early." In the two weeks leading up to election, the groups will "provide information, transportation, food, music, personal protective equipment and voter protection support to Americans near early voting sites in cities around the country." More Than A Vote and When We All Vote will focus their efforts on key cities like Charlotte, Philadelphia, Detroit and Atlanta among others.

“It’s now up to us to do everything in our power to get our friends and family ready to vote early and safely together,” Michelle Obama stated.

“We can’t leave anyone behind. I’m proud of the work When We All Vote will do with More Than a Vote and our partners to help provide on-the-ground support for Americans who will cast their ballots early."

In recent weeks, James and company have ramped up their efforts in a major way. Last month, the organization launched a merchandise line to benefit the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. The group has also donated $100,000 to the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, a nonprofit that assists formerly incarcerated people registering to vote.

Meanwhile, When We All Vote held a food distribution and voter registration drive in Minnesota this month. The group has also put together A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote television special that will benefit the nonprofit.
