SZA is set to be honored with another gracious award this year.

On Tuesday, April 16, the Songwriters Hall of Fame announced its plan to present the accomplished singer with the Hal David Starlight Award during the 53rd Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Dinner this summer. Since 2004, the Hal David Starlight Award, which was named in honor of SHOF Chairman Emeritus Hal David, honors young songwriters who've created original songs that have make a powerful impact in the music industry. Past winners include Taylor Swift, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, Halsey, Drake, Ed Sheeran and others.

“This is such an exciting time for songwriters and music," said SHOF Chairman Nile Rodgers. "Phenomenal artists like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are pushing the envelope of what success looks like but who could argue that the last 2 years belong to SZA. Incredible songwriting, incredible performances, incredible artistry. She so deserves to be the 2024 recipient of the Hal David Starlight Award!”

The 2024 Songwriters Hall of Fame is set to induct its new class of honorees including Timbaland, Hillary Lindsey, Dean Pitchford, Steely Dan's Donald Fagen and Walter Becker plus R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, Bill Berry, Peter Buck and Mike Mills.

"It caught me off guard because you know for me, I don't never look at my work to be put up on a pedestal," Timbaland said about his induction. "I just love to keep working and doing God gave me the gift to do."

The induction ceremony and awards dinner is set to occur on Thursday, June 13 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
