Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce's past comments about expectations for his significant other attending games have resurfaced amid his pop superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift's recent absence.

“If you’re dating a professional athlete, I do not believe, at least for me, that you have to go to all the games,” Kelce told WhoSay while promoting his E! reality dating show Catching Kelce in 2016.

Swift, 34, who's attended the majority of the Chiefs' games that haven't conflicted with her touring schedule since she started dating Kelce, 34, last year, has missed the team's last two road games in Atlanta and Los Angeles.

“I mean, there’s eight home games, eight away games, plus playoffs. I don’t even expect my parents and my friends to make every single game,” Kelce said at the time before claiming he wanted his potential girlfriend to be his top supporter.

“I need her to cheer when we’re doing awesome, just to make sure that that look is being presented to everyone,” he added at the time.

Swift has reportedly been busy preparing for the relaunch of her Eras Tour, which is set to continue in Miami on October 18, sources with knowledge of the situation told Page Six. Additionally, there are reportedly "security concerns" for Swift, one of music's biggest stars, to attend the Chiefs' road games.

“She has worked with Arrowhead so many times, they feel at ease and comfortable. Going to all kinds of different stadiums, you need to send a team in advance,” an insider said.

The undefeated Chiefs will host the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday (October 7) night.
