Bad Bunny's jersey-inspired look during the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show paid homage to someone special in his life.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, dressed the part for his historic performance at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday (February 8), wearing an all-white custom Zara outfit designed by Janthony Oliveras featuring a football jersey emblazoned with Benito's last name and the number 64.
In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, the Puerto Rican superstar explained how the integer wasn't random and was actually an homage to his late uncle, who passed away two years ago and who he would watch football games with growing up.

"1964 is the year my Tio Cutito was born. He is my mother's brother. Everything that I know about the NFL is thanks to him," he said. "When he was 17, he left to work in the United States and he never returned to Puerto Rico — though he always came to visit and stayed with us at the end of January or beginning of February. That was peak NFL post-season so I always watched the games with him. He was a big fan of the San Francisco 49ers, and their home stadium is where the Super Bowl took place this year."
The Grammy winner shared that he "always dreamed" of taking his uncle to the Super Bowl but was never able to fulfill that wish due to his "sudden" death, so when he knew he wanted to include his uncle in his performance.
"So I decided to bring him on my shirt when I performed at the Super Bowl: Ocasio, his last name, the same as my mom, along with his birth year, '64," he said. "I dedicated my show before I began; I am sure he saw it, he was present, and he felt proud of his nephew. Now all we need is for the 49ers to one day with the Super Bowl again."
Benito brought the house down with a star-studded halftime show featuring special performances from Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin as well as cameos from stars like Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Alix Earle, Karol G, Jessica Alba and more.
