Breland has done what no other country artist has done before.
The country artist is set to release a new single that flips 50 Cent's breakthrough song "In Da Club" into his next major hit. Breland debuted "In My Truck" on Tuesday, March 3, during his appearance on Fat Joe and Jadakiss' podcast. The song begins with 50 Cent's infamous hook "Go shawty, it's your birthday/We gon' party like it's your birthday" before he croons, "You can find me in my truck." Breland told Joe and Jada how he felt when he found out that 50 Cent and Dr. Dre gave him their blessing to sample the track.
"I was a little nervous whether we was gonna be able to get 50 to clear it," Breland explained, "and I was even more nervous whether we was gonna be able to get Dr. Dre to clear it and then they both gave us the stamp."
Breland is a multifaceted artist who's excelled in various genres, including Country, Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop and Gospel. Throughout his career, the 30-year-old musician has penned hits for Chris Brown, NE-YO, Ty Dolla $ign, Trey Songz, Jacquees and Dru Hill. He's also collaborated with Nelly, Keith Urban, Shania Twain, Thomas Rhett, Lady A, Mickey Guyton, and more.
"In My Truck" is coming soon. It will arrive two years after Breland dropped his Project 2024 EP, featuring songs like "Motion" and "Same Work" featuring War & Treaty.
