Shyne is back in the studio working on new music with some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop.

In an Instagram post he shared on Thursday, March 5, the former politician posted a photo of himself with Timbaland, Polow Da Don, and rapper Tru Life at a recording studio in Miami.

"What’s better than being in the studio with one of the GOATS @timbaland working on the new Shyne Album ?" Shye wrote in his caption. "When one of the best ever @polowdadon stop in and I walk away with the second new Shyne Album…… You had to be there…….CLASSIC."

It's been over 25 years since Shyne dropped his self-titled debut album. It was released while he was in jail due to the infamous 1999 club shooting involving Sean "Diddy" Combs. Bad Boy Records dropped the album and later parted ways with Shyne. The Belize-born artist eventually signed with Def Jam while he was locked up and released his sophomore LP, Godfather Buried Alive. His second album features collaborations with Ashanti, Kurupt, Nate Dogg, and Foxy Brown, along with production by Ye, Just Blaze, Swizz Beatz and Mike Dean.

Following his release from prison, Shyne was deported back to Belize, where he began a career in politics. He began as Belize's Music and Goodwill Ambassador in 2010 and flourished until he was elected to the House of Representatives in 2020. He was also appointed the Opposition Leader and the leader of the Belize United Democratic Party. He held both positions until he lost his seat in the House of Representatives to Lee Mark Chang in 2025.

Shyne plans to celebrate his 25th anniversary at a concert in Brooklyn, New York, on May 2. See more details about the show below.
