The Miami Dolphins have reportedly notified interested teams that Pro Bowl running back De'Von Achane is off limits after multiple key players were traded and released during the offseason, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday (March 18).

Several teams reportedly reached out to the Dolphins to see if Achane was available during the offseason, according to Schefter.

"Sources: Teams that have called the Miami Dolphins to inquire about trading for Pro-Bowl RB De’Von Achane have been told that he is not available," Schefter wrote on his X account.

The Dolphins traded wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos on Tuesday (March 17) and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to the New York Jets earlier this month, having also released wide receiver Tyreek Hill and Tua Tagovailoa during the offseason.

Achane is entering the final year of his four-year rookie contract after being selected by the Dolphins at No. 84 overall in the third-round of the 2023 NFL Draft and is coming off a season in which he recorded career-best totals in rushing attempts (238), rushing yards (1,350) and rushing touchdowns (8) while also leading the league in yards per attempt (5.7) and recording 67 receptions for 488 yards and four touchdowns.

"I mean, he's a marvelous player," newly hired Dolphins general manager Eric Sullivan said told reporters asked about Achane getting a possible extension during the NFL Scouting Combine via ESPN. "We want him to be part of this thing moving forward. ... We will have those conversations with him as well as some other guys as we move down the road, but that's going to be later in the summer."
