Ye celebrated the release of his new album BULLY by debuting the official music video for his new collaboration with Travis Scott, featuring a popular Michael Jackson impersonator and other odd guests.
On Saturday, March 28, the seasoned rapper-producer dropped the visuals for his new song "Father" hot off his 12th studio album BULLY. Directed by his wife Bianca Censori, Ye sits in the front row of a church as people in the diverse congregation live out their own life stories. Behind Ye, a cat lady and her son try to hear the priest's sermon while a Michael Jackson lookalike sits in the back.
"Yes for those out there who are wondering if that was me in the 'Father' video, yes it was me," Fabio Jackson, the famed Michael Jackson impersonator, said in a livestream after the visuals dropped. "The whole idea was to make it a tapestry type of thing, and that's what I did."
Jackson's appearance was one of numerous pieces of symbolism that were scattered throughout the video. Ye acknowledged a few hot topics that are plaguing the country today. As the sermon continued, a knight rode in on a black horse and police officers arrested a nun. After an alien spaceship lands outside the window, a pair of astronauts approach Ye and pull off his mask to reveal that he was an alien the whole time.
Once they carried him out of the room, another alien entered the church and pulled off his mask to reveal that he's really Travis Scott. The rapper claims two brides and walks out with them. Jackson and most of the people in the room follow them out.
Ye dropped the music video a day after he debuted his new album at a massive listening session in Los Angeles. BULLY has 18 tracks including collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, CeeLo Green, André Troutman and more. It's his first solo project to drop via gamma after Larry Jackson's label signed a deal with the veteran artist several months ago.
