Cam'ron says JAY-Z subliminally dissed him on one of Hov and Kanye West's greatest collaborations.
The rapper and podcaster revealed the shocking update during his Talk With Flee show, which debuted on REVOLT on Wednesday, April 1. After his co-host asked if Jay had ever sneak-dissed him, Cam admitted Hov actually did that on "Otis," the lead single for his and Ye's Watch The Throne album. The Dipset founder recalled how he had "said some slick s**t" about Ye at the time, and JAY-Z defended him on his verse.
"I had distribution through Asylum Records at that particular time," Cam explained.
"And then Kanye did the song with JAY-Z, that first single for their album together and we had just said something about Kanye," he continued. "So on that song, that song probably came out about two months after we said something about Kanye and he said in the bars, 'Live from the Mercer/Run up on Yeezy the wrong way, I might murk ya/Flee in the G450, I might surface/Political refugee, asylum can be purchased."
Cam's revelation about JAY-Z's verse on "Otis" stunned rap fans and critics alike. Most were shocked that they didn't catch the triple entendre when the song dropped in 2011. Others said the news proves that JAY-Z is a lyrical genius, especially when it comes to his execution of double and triple entendres in his rhymes.
