The Chicago Sky announced that they've traded two-time WNBA All-Star Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream in exchange for two first-round picks in the 2027 and 2028 WNBA Drafts and will receive 2028 second-round swap rights in a post shared on their X account Monday (April 6).

"The Sky are trading Angel to the Dream in exchange for two first-round picks," Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca said in a statement. "This trade is designed to achieve roster balance and represents a great opportunity for all parties."

Reese, 23, was the WNBA's leading rebounder in each of her first two seasons, which included averaging 12.6 per game in 2025 and is the only player in league history to average at least 12.0 rebounds per game in a season, having done so twice. The former LSU standout led the WNBA in double-doubles (23), while leading the Sky in scoring (14.7 points) and assists (3.7) in 2025 and set the WNBA single-season record for total rebounds (446), offensive rebounds (172) and consecutive double-doubles (15) in 2024.

"Angel has achieved many record-breaking milestones in her first two years in the WNBA and has been a competitive force for the Sky," Pagliocca said. "We are thankful for her many important contributions to this league and this game, and we know she will continue to have a big impact on the court and beyond.

"We wish Angel all the best in her next chapter."

Reese will join a Dream roster that includes guards Allisha Gray, who finished fourth in WNBA MVP voting last year and Rhyne Howard. Atlanta finished the 2025 season with the third-best record in the league at 30-14 before being eliminated by the Indiana Fever in the first-round of the playoffs.
