Kansas City Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt and Derek Green, the son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green, announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post shared on Sunday (April 5).
"It was always you 💍❤️♾️ 'And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.' Romans 8:28," Hunt wrote along a carousel of photos from the proposal and the hashtags "engagemenet," "engaged" and "love."
Hunt, 27, formerly Miss Kansas USA, announced her relationship with Green on her Instagram account last May.
"My heart is full. 🫶🏼 Grateful for some much-needed time to rest, reflect, and reset after a whirlwind few months post-football season. So thankful for time with the people who keep me grounded, remind me I’m loved, and never fail to make me laugh. Swipe for a few favorite snapshots from life lately. ☺️," Hunt wrote in the caption of a carousel of photos, which included six with Green.
Hunt had teased the relationship one month prior with an unidentified man at Arrowhead Stadium, where she claimed they met "7.5 years ago."
“After meeting 7.5 years ago in this place … all along there was some invisible string,” Hunt captioned in the post, referencing lyrics to the song 'invisible string' by Taylor Swift, the fiancée of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, which was screengrabbed by the Daily Mail.
Green's father, Trent, spent six of his 11 NFL seasons with the Chiefs, which included a 48-40 record as a starter from 2001 to 2006.
