All Elite Wrestling CEO, President, General Manager and Head of Creative Tony Khan previewed the Dynasty pay-per-view in an exclusive interview with iHeartMedia ahead of the event Sunday (April 12) night.

Khan, 43, who also serves as an executive for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and Premier League's Fulham F.C., is a lifelong fan of professional wrestling whose passion shines through while he discusses the company he founded in 2019, which has had a track record of putting on acclaimed pay-per-view events throughout its history.

"AEW has the most exciting pro wrestling, AEW is where the best wrestle," Khan said.

Dynasty will be headlined by the AEW Men's World Heavyweight Championship match between current champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman, a rising superstar in ventures outside of wrestling, and former champion Kenny Omega, one of the industry's most celebrated wrestlers from the past decade and a co-founder of AEW.

"It's just going to be a fantastic match, I think," Khan said. Both of them have been fantastic world champions in AEW. MJF now a two-time world champion, Kenny Omega seeking a second reign as world champion and both of them, since the very beginning of AEW, have been key to the company. They were at different positions in their career at the start of AEW, now these are two of the greatest stars in the history of this company going 1-on-1 for the first time on pay-per-view in AEW history.

Chris Jericho, a longtime WWE mainstay, was also instrumental in the company's launch, revealing he signed during AEW's initial press conference in 2019 before becoming its first world champion later that year. Jericho was previously reported to be considering a return to WWE before ultimately announcing he re-signed with AEW during a live broadcast of Dynamite from his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, earlier this month.

"Well I think Chris always wanted to stay here," Khan said. "He was a free agent and he had a choice where to go in wrestling and Chris absolutely wanted to be in AEW and I'm glad. I wanted Chris to be here. And we always had that date circled that we would be in Winnipeg on April 1 and he wanted to return to wrestling in Winnipeg after being out for a while. Chris had a huge decision to make and I'm really glad he chose to come back to AEW. He's a huge part of the company."

Khan also addressed the status of former TBS Champion Mercedes Moné, who at one point held the title along with 10 others from various wrestling promotions. Moné, formerly Sasha Banks in WWE, last appeared one AEW television on December 31, losing her title to Willow Nightingale, and has since lost all others during her globetrotting schedule on the independent circuit.

"I am very excited about Mercedes Moné, she's a huge part of AEW and I'm very excited to have her back in AEW, hopefully soon," Khan said. "She's been traveling the world, she's wrestled all over. I think she's hit a rough spot in her wrestling career in terms of her championship aspirations. She held so many championships all over the world. And now, with Mercedes having traveled the world, she won all these championships and she's had some setbacks. I still think she's one of the top wrestlers on the planet and I'm excited for her to return to AEW in 2026.

AEW Dynasty will stream live on HBO Max or PPV.com in the United States or Prime Video and MYAEW.com in international markets on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
