Lil Baby's company has taken legal action against an online smoke shop for allegedly ruining his reputation with contaminated hemp products.

According to a report Complex published on Saturday, April 11, The Holding Company, which oversees several trademarks for Lil Baby's brands, filed a lawsuit against Bay Smokes over a collaboration that went sour. In legal documents, Baby's company explained that it agreed to collaborate with Bay Smokes to create hemp-based products inspired by the Atlanta rapper. However, the attorneys allege the collaboration resulted in illegal cannabis products instead of the legal hemp he originally agreed to.

“Defendants’ conduct not only breached the Agreement but also exposed consumers to unsafe products falsely associated with Plaintiff and the Lil Baby brand,” the lawsuit reads.

Lil Baby's company claims they had some of Bay Smokes' products from their collaboration and tested them. The results found that the items “failed microbial safety testing and contained over 22% of total THC." There were also traces of E. coli found in the products. The products also contained yeast and mold “at levels too numerous to count.”

Bay Smokes was sent a cease-and-desist from Lil Baby's company back in February 2025. However, the brand has yet to remove its "WHAM by Lil Baby" collection from its website. Baby's team alleged that Bay Smokes chose to increase its advertising instead of complying. As of this report, Lil Baby has not spoken publicly about the dispute.
