Tory Lanez is suing the prison where he was previously held for millions over the horrific stabbing that happened last year.

According to a report TMZ published on Friday, April 17, the singer filed a $100 million lawsuit against the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, along with the warden at California Correctional Institution (CCI) in Tehachapi and 50 corrections officers. Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, was attacked by another inmate, Santino Casio, last May. Casio stabbed Peterson with a shank 16 times, causing two collapsed lungs and permanent scarring on his face. The singer was sent to a nearby hospital and was eventually transferred to another prison.

Peterson accused the prison of mistakenly placing him in a cell with Casio, who had a "violent history" before the attack. He argued that Casio shouldn't have been assigned to his cell due to Peterson's celebrity status. He believes Warden Danny Samuel violated CDCR protocols by placing him in the same cell as Casio. He also claimed the prison's guards were nowhere to be seen while Casio attacked him. He alleged there was a delay in response during the stabbing and argued the prison staff failed to protect him.

In the lawsuit, Peterson also accused the staff of confiscating his original songbooks while he was recovering in the hospital. The books were filled with unreleased lyrics and notes from conversations with his attorney. He claimed the lyrics have "substantial commercial value." Peterson is seeking $10 million for his facial scarring and $1 million for each stab wound he sustained. He also wants his songbooks to be returned to him.

Peterson is currently serving the remainder of his 10-year prison sentence at the California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo.
