Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant is reportedly expected to miss Game 4 of his team's first-round Western Conference Playoff game against the Los Angeles Lakers due to a bone bruise in his sprained ankle, ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Sunday (April 26).

Durant, 37, had previously missed Game 1 due to a knee injury he sustained in practice before returning for Game 2, when he suffered the ankle injury, forcing him to miss Game 3, with the Rockets falling to a 3-0 deficit in the best of seven series.

"Houston's Kevin Durant is expected to miss Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell ESPN. Durant has a bone bruise in his sprained ankle, which would sideline him 2 to 3 weeks in season. He's had around-the-clock treatment to play but has not been cleared by doctors," Charania wrote on his X account. "Durant came into the Rockets facility this morning for his rehab with the team’s medical staff and participated in film session and meetings with teammates. The bone bruise has created swelling, stiffness and lack of mobility in the ankle, sources said. Houston will face a 3-0 series deficit with Durant out tonight."

Durant averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists during the 2025-26 NBA regular season, the 18th of his career. The former NBA MVP recorded 23 points, six rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal during his lone appearance in the first-round series.
