Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were not arguing with each other following their long night at the Met Gala, despite the viral conspiracies that suggest trouble in paradise.
Fans are under the impression that the superstar couple had an intense conversation inside a Sprinter van after the Met Gala festivities slowed down on Monday, May 4. The theories were fueled by another video that appears to show Riri looking annoyed while Rocky had a light-hearted discussion with another woman. People put two and two together, which spawned the rumor that there's tension between the longtime couple. However, that's not the case.
According to TMZ, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were running on fumes by the time they were recorded in the Sprinter van. A source close to the situation said the couple had been on the go for over 16 hours between all the prepping, other appearances, and the gala itself. They the two artists were completely drained as they talked in the van, and emphasized that there's no troubles at all.
Meanwhile, the woman Rocky was speaking to at the Met Gala was identified as Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, a Italian fashion editor and stylist who's known Rihanna for years. TMZ also reports that Engelbert's interaction with Rocky was blown out of context. Rihanna and Engelbert actually spoke first before she got into a conversation with Rocky about his necklace. The Grammy Award-winning singer was doing an interview nearby while the two chatted, and only turned toward them after she was done.
There's no romantic connection between Rocky and Engelbert, but that didn't stop trolls from trolling. See the video in question below.
