With a bit more rest, Ray J will be ready for the next one.
The "One Wish" singer took to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday (May 27) to share a new health update following his knockout loss against YouTuber Supa Hot Fire at Adin Ross' UFC Apex event in Las Vegas on May 23. He was reportedly taken to a hospital after experiencing a heart issue and being checked for a concussion after he was knocked out by a blow to the face during the second round of the match, per Entertainment Weekly.
The artist assured fans on Instagram that he was "getting better" and would "see y'all on Friday," referring to a scheduled performance at the Pete Be Center in San Jose, California, on May 29. However, owner Pete Be said that after an "incredible conversation" with Ray J, that performance was being rescheduled for June 27 instead, E! News reports.
"Ray is ready to rock. Now, out of respect for fans and the experience, Ray and I want to make sure he brings the energy that everybody deserves," Be said in a video that was also shared by Ray J on his Stories.
Ray J's brutal loss and subsequent health check comes months after he claimed doctors told him he didn't have long to live after experiencing concerning heart issues and a stint in the hospital in January with pneumonia. Even his mother, Sonja Bates-Norwood has spoken out on his serious and "life-threatening" medical condition after some critics speculated his health issues were a hoax.
