Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is apologizing for making negative comments about his team's fans. Watson admitted he had expected a warmer reception and allowed his emotions to take over.

Despite being outperformed by second-year quarterback Shedeur Sanders in recent games, Watson will start the Browns' Week One matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Watson's tenure with the Browns has been challenging, marked by injuries and a suspension following allegations of misconduct. The Browns acquired him from the Houston Texans, offering a five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed contract. Fans' dissatisfaction has grown as Watson's performance has not met expectations, with only 19 touchdowns in 19 games.
Sanders, who completed 9 of 11 passes for 74 yards and a touchdown in a recent game, defended Watson against the booing. He emphasized respect and understanding, stating, "We're all human beings." Head coach Todd Monken acknowledged the fan reaction but stressed the importance of performance on the field.
