Longtime NFL tight end CJ Uzomah has announced his retirement after a decade in professional football. The 33-year-old, who began his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, returned to the team today to retire with the franchise that drafted him in the fifth round in 2015. Uzomah, originally from Suwanee, Georgia, played college football at Auburn University before making his mark in the NFL.
Throughout his career, Uzomah played in 113 games, recording 192 receptions for 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns. He spent seven seasons with the Bengals, where he became a fan favorite for his on-field performance and leadership. Uzomah then joined the New York Jets for two seasons before finishing his career with a brief stint at the Philadelphia Eagles.
