2 Chainz is offering an apology to people who were offended by comments he made during a heated conversation with food blogger Keith Lee.

The Atlanta rapper appeared on the latest episode of Kirk Franklin's Den of Kings podcast with Lee, comedian Desi Banks, and Mojo Brookzz. While discussing success and responsibilities that come with it, 2 Chainz shared his thoughts on Lee's viral food reviews and revisited an unfavorable video he made about one of his Atlanta-based restaurants. Tity Boi questioned Lee's ability to offer an unbiased opinion due to his strict diet as a former athlete, but Lee argued his restaurant reviews reflect experiences everyday people have.

“If I go in, if you, 2 Chainz, go in, you're going to have a completely different experience than if my mama go in... because they're not who other people think they are here," Lee explained. "Specifically, the experience was completely different once my face was shown. I send my mother-in-law to 10 different restaurants, couldn't eat nowhere. I go in, table ready right now. I don't ever want to put nobody in a situation that they get a different experience only because they not Keith Lee.”

“I’m an entertainer, and obviously we get perks that other people don’t get," 2 Chainz replied. "That’s just period, my boy. I don’t stand in line at the airport. I don’t do none of that because I done worked my ass off to do this.”

2 Chainz's response didn't go over too well with the general public. Some critics in the comment section called him "tone deaf" and "out of touch." After two days of backlash, the Grammy Award-winning rapper issued an apology to those who were offended by his comments. He also clarified that he did speak to Lee after the podcast wrapped and that there's no bad blood between them.

"I got a chance to speak to Keith after the podcast and it was all love," he wrote on X. "I know my words offended some people and I apologize for that. What I said and what I meant were two different things. I could’ve done a better job getting my point across. Toni"
