So hopefully you all tuned into the show today to catch the Sanaa Lathan interview. She spoke with the crew about what it was like taping Shots Fired.
During the taping she shared how difficult is was to film after the Philando Castile shooting which happened in July the night before shooting an episode. July, also being a month of record numbers of shootings of black men prompted the crew to do a prayer circle to ask for guidance and grace because of the responsibility the film was taking on.
She hopes that the show will provoke something within the audience that sparks arguments and debates but more so conversations of understanding and acceptance because the story is told from several different perspectives. From the grieving mothers of the victims, the cops, the justice system. Listen below to check out the full interview. The show is something you do not want to miss.
