In 2018, professor and attorney Mo Ivory created a course at Georgia State University's Law School that studied the legal life of entertainers. In past semesters, her students heard from Atlanta legends like Ludacris and Kandi Burruss. This semester, she and her students covered "The Legal Life of Steve Harvey." Throughout the semester, they discussed his business and legal issues related to the Kings of Comedy Tour, the creation of Judge Steve Harvey, and everything in between. They were able to hear from those who have worked for Uncle Steve in the past and who make up his team now, like our very own Shirley Strawberry.
To wrap up the course, Uncle Steve met with the students who studied him to talk more about his life and offer some words of encouragement. He said, "First of all I want to thank Georgia State, it's one of the greatest honors I've ever received. Who would've thought in a million years, that my life would be worth being studied by some law students." During his Closing Remarks today, he shared with listeners the gems he dropped on the students, staff, and faculty at Georgia State University's Law School.
