Entertainment News: Pharrell vs PETA, Common's Boo + Mary J. Blige Honored

Pharrell Williams took over as the head of menswear at Louis Vuitton back in February of this year after Virgil Abloh passed away and he showcased his first collection at fashion week. But everybody is not happy with Pharell’s designs. PETA slammed Pharrell and accused him of animal abuse after the big debut of the Louis Vuitton “Millionaire” Speedy bag that is priced at $1Mill. The bag is covered in crocodile skin and it comes in four different colors. Pharrell had released a video detailing the design of the bag, with its solid gold zipper, chunky gold link chain handle, and a lock encrusted in pavé diamonds, which struck a big nerve with PETA… TMZ obtained a copy of a letter from PETA’s Senior Vice President, intended for Pharrell. It read: “We aren’t happy to note your newest design, the Millionaire Speedy bag, which is crafted from crocodile skin, because when it comes to animals being used for fashion, it isn’t Beautiful, it’s abuse.”

Moving on, we have a new couple alert! According to various online sources, it’s rumored that Jennifer Hudson and Common are a couple. JHud and Common were spotted holding hands at Joe’s Pub in New York City this past Saturday night. They were cute and comfortable for their “date” and didn’t seem to be hiding from anyone. Best wishes to this happy new couple!

And a big shout-out goes to your home state of Ohio, Steve! Ohio is the 24th state to legalize recreational marijuana. The new law allows anyone 21 or older to purchase up to 2.5 ounces of weed for recreational use and if you prefer to grow your own, you can are permitted to have up to 6 marijuana plants in your home.

And finally, Glamour magazine honored Mary J. Blige and actress Quinta Brunson (from Abbott Elementary) at their annual Women of the Year Awards in New York, on Wednesday. They were both chosen for their illustrious accomplishments in entertainment, with a few other women. Congrats Mary J Blige and Quinta Brunson!
