Former Vice President Kamala Harris gave a powerful speech at The Leading Women Defined Summit in California this past Thursday. The annual summit brings together Black women leaders, influencers, and changemakers from across the country to discuss important issues and uplift one another. Harris used her platform to speak on the current state of politics and to remind voters of the risks at stake in the upcoming election.
During her speech, Harris reminded the audience about her past warnings concerning former President Donald Trump. She spoke directly about the dangers of returning to leadership that pushes harmful policies, especially for women and communities of color. She stressed the importance of staying informed and using your voice at the ballot box.
Harris also gave praise to the Hands Off! protestors, a growing movement of young people and organizers who have taken a stand against Trump’s Project 2025 agenda. She called them brave and thanked them for speaking up, organizing, and making noise.
