Why? Because he did something that rarely happens. He beat the government in court. Diddy was found not guilty of three major charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. However, he was still convicted on two lesser charges under the Mann Act, which involved prostitution.
Still, the fact that he avoided the more serious charges was a big deal in the eyes of the inmates. One of them reportedly said, “We never get to see anyone who beats the government.” That shows how difficult it is to win in federal court, where the conviction rate is very high.
